Work is expected to begin on or around July 18, 2022 on the City of Groveport Hickory Alley Storm Sewer Improvement Project. The City has awarded a contract for the project to Boss Excavating and Grading, Inc. of Columbus, Ohio. Please be advised that work activities will include storm sewer pipe removal and reconstruction, and pavement restoration on/along the following streets:
Work on these alleys will require a temporary closing on these alleys in the segments noted above. The duration of closure may vary from time to time. During work times, some side street parking on Elm Street, Walnut Street and Church Street near these alleys/streets will be temporarily discontinued. Resident notices will be posted in work areas in advance of the work to be performed.
Be advised that Hickory Alley from Brook Alley to Walnut Street, will remain open to local traffic and in this reach, two-way traffic at slow speed is temporarily permitted. During construction, Brook Alley north of Hickory will be open for local traffic, but access to Main Street from Brook Alley will not be available. Church Street travelers should expect a closure at the Hickory Alley intersection, but Church Street north and south of Hickory will be open to local traffic only. Hickory Alley between College Street and Raver Alley will be closed to through traffic. Underground drainage work at the College Street/Hickory Alley intersection will occur during business hours that will require on College Street, two-way, one lane traffic control.
It is anticipated work will begin as noted above, and be completed by late-September, 2022, subject to weather conditions and/or possible unforeseen conditions. Stay tuned for more updates as work proceeds.
