East Bixby Road Construction Beginning July 29, 2019

East Bixby Road

The road improvement will include removing pavement, conditioning the subgrade, installing edge pavement-drain, and installing new pavement. The roadway is not being widening substantially, nor is curb and gutter drainage being installed.  During critical weeks of construction, the roadway between US Route 33 and Ebright Road will be temporarily closed to through traffic. Residents residing in the Harriet Subdivision (homes on Solomon Avenue, Harriet Street, Stoltz Avenue, Ginger Court, and Morgan Court), will not be permitted to access their properties from Bixby Road and should access these streets from the Ebright Road/Solomon Avenue intersection, following posted detours.  Area residents should avoid the Work Zone and use the detour.

Project Update - Due to unforeseen soil conditions, the road closure of East Bixby Road to through traffic will continue until further notice to allow for construction of the roadway subgrade to be treated properly and stabilized.  Weather permitting, work should be completed by mid-October, 2019.  More updates will be posted as they become available.
