The Groveport Community Improvement Corporation is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation organized as a component unit of the City of Groveport. The Board of Trustees for the CIC includes local elected officials, community representatives, a banking representative, a representative from the Groveport-Madison Local School District, and business representatives.
The purpose of the CIC is to extend and enhance the City's economic and community development efforts:
Functioning as the City's agent for development related real estate transactions
Funding marketing activities, including local market analytics and the development of market reports and community surveys
Assisting with development of the City's Main Street corridor and historic central business district
Small business development activities
Serving as the fiscal agent for major community events and activities
Since its creation in 2002, the CIC has partnered with the City of Groveport on a number of projects and initiatives, including the redevelopment of the former swimming pool site on Hendron Road for medical offices and the redevelopment of property at the corner of Main and Front Street for retail and restaurants.
The CIC meets quarterly on the last Wednesdays of February, May, August and November. The meetings are held in City Council Chambers on the 2nd floor of the Municipal Building at 655 Blacklick St., Groveport, OH and are open to the public.
