In 2017 the City of Groveport decided to move the Groveport's Tree Lighting from Town Hall to Heritage Park and renamed it "The Heritage Holiday". A new tree was planted at the park and it has become our new Christmas Tree. Heritage Park was decorated throughout with festive Christmas colors.
This 2 day event began with the lighting of the christmas tree and the park by Mayor Lance Westcamp and Santa Claus. After the tree and park was lit you could follow the luminaries back to the pond and take a horse drawn wagon ride around the pond, there was also a live reindeer display, petting zoo, ice sculpture, entertainment, cookies for children to decorate and most important children were able to sit in Santa Claus's lap with Mrs. Claus by his side to tell him what they wanted for Christmas.
The park will be lit everynight until the first of the year. Be sure to drive town Wirt Rd to see the beautiful lights.
Mark you calendar for December 7 and 8, 2018 for the next Heritage Holiday in Groveport.
