Engineering
The City of Groveport Engineering Department is responsible for the planning, design, construction, and inspection of the city’s public infrastructure and developer-driven improvements. The department also prepares layouts for capital improvements (streets, storm, water, facility) and develops, maintains and updates the city’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP), including the planning, plan review, and construction management for transportation, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water distribution projects.
Engineering staff also reviews proposed site development plans and proposed utility improvement plans prepared by consultants to support developer-driven projects, to ensure these plans are in conformance with City standards. Moreover, engineering staff reviews public records, legal plats, surveys and documents related to annexations, easements, dedications and vacations prior to Council action.
The Engineering Department maintains the City’s street and sidewalk inventory and manages the City’s Stormwater Management Plan and NPDES stormwater program and manages the City’s sanitary sewer Capacity, Management, Operation and Maintenance (CMOM) program.
Support Services
Engineering staff provides technical support to other city departments, developers, and citizens with respect to utilities, stormwater management, floodplain management, wastewater collection, water distribution, transportation planning, traffic concerns, neighborhood traffic issues, and other engineering-related items.
City Engineer
The City Engineer coordinates routinely with the Public Works Department, to accomplish the above goals.
