Nationally, Ohio ranked 16th with a 75.9% graduation rate. Ohio performed five percentage points higher than the national average. The high educational level can be attributed to the wealth of colleges, universities, and technical schools in Central Ohio.  Stats are results from 2008.

  • Groveport Madison Schools, www.gocruisers.org The Mission of the Groveport Madison School District is to provide a challenging program of study to empower individuals to become productive citizens who pursue their goals and dreams in an ever-changing world.

K-8 Charter School

  • Groveport Community School,  http://www.imagineschoolsgpt.com/opened its doors on September 5, 2006, serving students in grades k-4. In the 08-09 school year the school will be serving students k-8.  We have a very active parent group, and we love to have parents visit our school. We want parents to be involved and to let us know how we are doing. We seek to partner with parents for their children's education.

COLLEGES & UNIVERSITIES

  • The Ohio State University, http://www.osu.edu/ email mailto:webmaster@www.acs.ohio-state.edu] founded in 1870, is the largest single-campus enrollment in the nation. OSU has a regular faculty of 3,300 teaching, more than 54,000 students in more than 11,000 courses. There are 104 departments offering 123 master's degrees and 99 doctoral degrees as well as professional degrees in law, medicine, dentistry, engineering, pharmacy, optometry and veterinary medicine. It has one of the country's largest enrollments of graduate students in degree programs, and sponsored research contracts total $197 million.   • Capital University, [http://www.capital.edu] founded in 1830, serves over 1,776 undergraduates on their 50 acre campus in suburban Columbus. Approximately 1200 graduate students utilize the graduate programs which include The Graduate School of Administration and Law School. The MBA and law programs frequently utilize executives and lawyers as adjunct faculty members.
     

  • Central Michigan University, Columbus Center [http://www.cel.cmich.edu] is a graduate degree program designed to give the students the best education with the least complications. Since 1972, more than 30,000 students have earned their degrees through Central Michigan University's Extended Degree Programs. This Master of Science in Administration is a 36-semester hour degree earned over the weekends at the Defense Supply Center, Columbus.   • The Columbus College of Art and Design, [http://www.ccad.edu] is a comprehensive, private art and design school that was founded in 1879. It is located on the east side of downtown, adjacent to the Columbus Museum of Art just east of downtown. There are over 1,800 students enrolled in day and evening classes, 1200 of which are full-time. The college offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in seven areas: fine arts, photography, illustration, industrial design, interior design, adverting design and retail advertising.   • Columbus State Community College, [http://www.cscc.edu] was founded as a technical school in 1963 but became a public community college 8 years ago. There is a 70-acre campus downtown with satellite campuses around the city. Two-year associate degrees in arts and sciences, applied sciences and technical studies are available.     Columbus State has opened an off-campus center in Groveport at the Southeast Center, 4449 Professional Parkway (located off South Hamilton Road). The college offers a wide variety of courses from Principles of Accounting to Real Estate Finance to Introduction to Psychology to Human Resources Management. Columbus State also offers special interest courses. This facility will be shared by Columbus State and Franklin University. Franklin's dedication is expected in early February of 1997.   • Denison University [http://www.denison.edu/] is a private college of liberal arts and sciences, located 27 miles outside of Columbus in Granville. The 50-acre main campus houses the student body of 1800 students. Over 35 majors are offered with many interdisciplinary courses and a unique Honors curriculum. Denison is nationally recognized for its combination of traditional and innovative approach to its curricula. The FW Olin Science Hall and the Mitchell Recreation and Athletics Complex were opened during the 1994-95 school year as a result of a $70 million capital campaign. Denison was also one of only four schools to receive a raised ranking in the acclaimed Fiske Guide, putting the university's ranking at 4-stars.   • DeVry University, [http://www.devry.edu/] is one of 11 private, for-profit institutes operated by DeVry Inc. This fully accredited institution offers an associate degree program for electronics technicians and bachelor's degree programs in several fields.   • Franklin University, [http://www.franklin.edu/] is located on the eastern edge of downtown, serving over 5,000 commuting students. The university offers bachelor's and two-year degrees, and added a new MBA program in 1993.   • Ohio Wesleyan University [http://www.owu.edu/] is a private college of liberal arts and sciences located 25 miles north of Columbus in Delaware. THEOLOGICAL SEMINARIES 

  • Methodist Theological School [http://www.mtso.edu] in Ohio is one of 13 United Methodist seminaries in the nation. The school is located 15 miles north of Columbus in southern Delaware County. The school offers master's programs to prepare students for ordained, diaconal and lay work. About 240 students are currently enrolled.   • Pontifical College Josephinum, [http://www.pcj.edu/intro/intropage.html] is located on 100 acres just outside of the Columbus suburb of Worthington. The Pontifical College Josephinum is the only pontifical seminary outside Italy. The school's College of Liberal Arts confers bachelor's degrees in English, history, psychology, Latin American studies and philosophy. The Graduate School of Theology awards a Master of Arts degree in theology and a Master of Divinity degree. The school currently enrolls 134 students.   • Trinity Lutheran Seminary, [trinitylutheranseminary.edu] enrolls 250 men and women in its graduate-level courses. The campus, adjacent to Capital University, is located three miles from downtown.
