Crooked Alley KidSpace: An Arts and Education Center for Children
630 Wirt Road, Groveport
Crooked Alley KidSpace, the City of Groveport's arts and education center just for children, opened in June 2009 at 630 Wirt Road at the intersection with Crooked Alley.
The facility offers scheduled programming and facility rentals for children up to the age of 12 through Groveport's Community Affairs Department to include children's art, dance; visits from the Columbus Zoo and other major special events; a preschool child-parent playgroup; Scout meetings; and a site for birthday parties and other children's events.
Other features include a Kids' Art Gallery to showcase works created by junior artists, library, children's garden, and an enclosed playground with a 15' treehouse. A 28' hand painted mural honors the merging of Wert's Grove and Rarey's Port in 1847 to create "Groveport." KidSpace is located on the Ohio and Erie Canal and the graphic illustrates what a child would have seen at that exact site in the mid-19th century.
KidSpace is also available to host your own party. Two rooms may be reserved for your event: FunSpace, the larger of the two rooms, holds up to 84 people with tables and chairs, for $50/hour. The Library is ideal for a smaller meeting or party up to 17 people, for $25/hour. There is no charge to reserve KidSpace if you are a Groveport resident or taxpayer. KidSpace Overnight permits overnight reservations for supervised Scouts, families or organized event for a fee of $10/person.

Preschool Programs at Crooked Alley KidSpace
Angela Martin, Preschool Coordinator
Grow With Me
Preschool Playgroup is an opportunity for a parent/caregiver and a child to play, to learn and to grow together. You and your child can look forward to arts and crafts, storytelling, music and dance, and spending moments together with age-appropriate toys and play equipment. On Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 10-11:30 am, activities are centered upon a specific theme. Your child will discover each week's theme through playtime, story time, and arts-related activities.
Preschool Rock n' Rollers
You and your preschooler will enjoy a movement and music-based program to engage all of your little one's creative senses. Rock n' Rollers meet from 10-10:45 am on Thursday mornings.
Preschool Picassos
Create crafts that little hands can easily construct. Children ages 2-6 are welcome, with adult participation required. Fridays from 10-11 am.
Additional Information: Fee for Grow With Me Preschool Programs is $2/child for taxpayers and $3/non-taxpayers per child. A multi-use punch card is available for purchase which offers one free session with the purchase of five. Preschool Programs require parent/caregiver participation; this is not a drop off center. The Center serves as an polling site for Madison Township; programs are not held on Election Day. Preschool programs will follow the closing schedule announced by the Groveport Madison School District. In the event of inclement weather, preschool programs will be canceled. Please contact Town Hall at 836-3333 for additional information.
